We all know the old saying "The wages of sin is Death"
Methinks this is a very limited view of the wages of sin....
So I hereby tastefully and humbly submit MY own list of the Wages of Sin
Myself and others have found the True Wages of Sin are proven to be, in no particular order:
- 1) Hang overs
- 2) red-lined envelopes in the mail with subtle reminders "If this letter and your
check have crossed in the mail, we apologize"
- 3) intimate and personal contact with the IRS
- 4) Unplanned children
- 5) Knowing school principals by first name
- 6) Traffic tickets
- 7) Parking tickets
- 8) Visits with lawyers
- 9) Poison Oak, Ivy , Sumac and anything else linked to "indiscretions in the
forest primeval"
- 10) Sunburn
- 11) Broken High Heels
- 12) Huge mounds of recycling
- 13) Burnt-off eyelashes
- 14) Dirty Dishes
- 15) Hours in the confessional/prelate concussions in confessional
- 16) Char-person's Knee and Carpal Tunnel from too many rosaries
- 17) Unsightly laundry stains
- 18) Rug Burn
- 19) Insufficient Fund Notices and other very thin letters from the Bank
- 20) Huge Phone Bills
- 21) Bumps and Bruises of unknown provenance
- 22) Infections of the disgusting sort
- 23) Long waits at the prescription counter
- 24) Cavities
- 25) Obesity
- 26) Lost wallets
- 27) keys locked in cars
- 28) telephone calls from complete unknowns who think one is named Fifi
- 29) Addictions
- 30) Pink Slips
- 31) Pink Eye
- 32) 12 step meetings of all manner of ilk
- 33) Eviction
- 34) Twisted Ankles
- 35) Dented Vehicles
- 36) insect bites
- 37) Mysterious Mechanical Failures
- 38) Lost bras
- 39) Found undies
- 40) Blisters
- 41) Insomnia
- 42) large ice cream and pizza bill; Chinese delivery man asks one out
- 43) Mismatched socks
- 44) trips to the Unemployment or Welfare Office
- 45) Social workers who say "too bad your name don't start with the letter H"
- 46) Very high insurance payments
- 47) Cashing one's paycheck
- 48) Dry cleaning bills
- 49) thumb tack holes in walls
- 50) Track Marks
- 51) Deviated Septum
